Yesterday we watched the Winter Festival in Burlington. Thus, we marveled at the sun shining at 0 ° C, the snow and ice sculptures in the pedestrian street, saw the children (envious) when Play on snow mountains in the snow man made park, along with photos llama, sheep, and ran the sled dogs from the Shelburne Farm and looked like a total of 1150 people one by one in the 1 ° C "hot" water of Lake Champlain.
Lakeside was, as always, by the icy wind, but it seemed to the participants, including many children, not to interfere at all.
From 16:00 clock started then the promised snow storm that turned out to be rare storm snow storm (less than 1% of all snow storms are thunderstorms snow storms) and one hour caused a power failure. Since the temperatures are still crawling around freezing, was 22 cm of new snow hard and stuck to trees, Houses, power lines, cars and so firm and created the perfect winter wonderland. Such kind of snow, which reminded me very much of German snow conditions, we know this does not normally, there is usually only the proverbial powder snow that is not even good for the snowmen.
This morning I made a few early photos before the snow was blown from the trees and the cats were thrilled with auto empty streets, the perfect mini snow balls that I threw them, and mild temperatures. Since then, however, awakened more and more people, after having freigebuddelt their cars, everywhere one hears the squeal of spinning tires, as most of the rear building parking are yet to be cleared and allowed to park overnight on the street no one at the clearance not to interfere. I think that even today many shops remain closed, since it takes a while for the surrounding roads are cleared.
I currently have a small problem with an image editing program that endures to this post for the time being without images, the photos but all later:)
This is a small video of a weather expert, who was standing in the snow storm of last week in Chicago and also a experienced storm:
