Letzte Woche waren wir für ein paar Tage in Orlando, Florida.
Nun, ich muß confess, if I had a list of places I would visit in the U.S., then it would not even Orlando on the list, maybe Miami Beach, but a place far away from the beaches, only known for its high number of amusement parks ? But then it is winter and the still quite long ...
I previously had nothing about it can be announced in the blog, as some said, however, that the trip would take place at all (the Dallas bankruptcy hits me even more to the stomach) so I'm a little superstitious, so long as I do not write about it, is not lost.
We planned to Anand Meet brother, who was visiting a trade fair for hotel kitchen equipment, but got no short-term visa. This had ansich our trip done, they then fly under a series of fortunate circumstances and persuasion (the brother, not mine), and since we both were tired of the perpetual snow, we decided yet. Although it exists now rainy season in Florida and the temperatures do not rise above 15 ° C, but you can be happy but of any variety.
Fortunately, the day of departure time was not a blizzard held in Vermont so we could easily travel by plane to Detroit (a great airport, everything is organized so modern and perfect), then change and around midnight, we reached our hotel in Orlando. It was nice at the airport the much warmer air to feel and see the palm trees promised by the street lamp light illuminated.
I had thought that there we had two days to two days and arrival and departure. At the hotel, I Anand points out, however, that come out from Wednesday to Sunday still three whole days while Orlando, Oops. Fortunately I had brought more clothes, in the event that we will go from completely wet and need a change of clothes so I had enough to comfortably come through with another day.
At 15 ° C hatte ich die Shorts und FlipFlops gleich zu Hause gelassen, aber ich dachte schon, daß ich mit Kleidern plus Strumpfhosen sowie zwei Strickjacken bequem in dieses Wetter passe, denn so lief ich z.T. noch im Oktober in Deutschland herum. Leider verschlechterten sich die Temperaturen während unseres Aufenthaltes. Es wurde zwar sonniger, aber dafür herrschten nur noch Temperaturen um den Gefrierpunkt und so fror ich doch an manchem Abend gar bitterlich. Aber ich war noch gut dran denn manch andere (Opfer) Touristen liefen in Erwartung subtropischer Temperaturen tatsächlich nur in besseren Badeklamotten durch die Gegend. (Und was erträgt man nicht alles um der ungeliebten Winterjacke für eine Weile zu entfliehen.)
